MODALITY OF 1st Phase of the Project, 2010-11

Division Of Ground Floor Building and its Approximate Cost:

  1. Eye Section Rs. 90 Lakh(Eye O.T. Rs.45 Lakh)
  2. (A half of it designed for Eye Hos. and the rest for various OPD and diagnostic sections)
  3. General Section Rs.90 Lakh(Pathology section Rs.30 Lakh, Diagnostic sections Rs.30 Lakh,Other Section Rs.30 Lakh)
  4. Cost of Foundation up to Plinth Rs.50 Lakh
  5. Cost from Plinth to Lintel Rs.30 Lakh

Special Features / Viability of this Project:

All phases of the above mentioned Project are complete in themselves, i.e., their success and working are independent of each other.

1st phase project: It is complete in itself. It aims at providing mainly OPD services of various departments with more of Eye Care facilities to maximum number of Cataract and Child patients. It includes construction of Ground floor to run well equipped Operation Theatre and various sections of OPD, Pathology and Diagnostic instruments.

2nd phase project: It is complete in itself. The 1st floor building aims at providing secondary and tertiary services to eye patients. Operation Theater for Special Surgery of eye patients, 60 bedded Eye Wards, Pathology and Histo Pathology Departments, Dental OPD, and Operation Theatre Section for ENT, Dental, Orthopedic and General patients are intended here.

3rd phase includes construction of 2nd floor where Dormitory/Hall, Class Rooms, Library and Tele Conferencing Hall for 60 trainees, Eye Bank and Wards for 40 Eye, ENT, Dental, Orthopedic patients have provision. It is intended to give to this hospital a super specialty in producing Paramedical Trainees and also in providing a Proficiency Training to young passed out eye surgeons/consultants in surgery and handling of ophthalmic instruments.The purpose of this training is to create regular inflow of medicos and para medicos in the hospital and also a constant outflow of skilled trainees to the society.

Our Humble Commitment for 1st Phase of the construction:

Once the ground floor is complete and the hospital is in running position we assure of the following services in the year 2011-12 :

(i) OPD, Eye : Present working hour at hospital is from 9 to 12 in the morning. In the new set up after completion of the ground floor building it will be increased to 2 p.m. in the noon and 4 to 6 p.m. in the evening.

(ii) IPD, Eye: Present surgery hour is from 7 to 9 p.m.(3 days a week).In the new set up it will be done in the morning and noon daily.

(iii) Eye Ward: Present set up has 30 beds for eye patients. It will be increased to 50 beds after the completion of Ground Floor construction. Notable that for a time being a part of the old hospital building can be used for eye ward till the 1st floor of the new hospital is not constructed.

(iv)General OPD sections: As mentioned earlier, rooms for General physicians, Cardiologist, Homeopathy, Aayurvedic, ENT, Audiometry, Orthopedic, Pediatric, Gynaecology, Medicine Dispensing, General Surgeon, Dentist, Dressing Room, Enquiry, Registration, Waiting Room, Billing and Accounting Office, CMO office etc.

(v)Clinical Laboratory: Pathology, X Ray, Radiology, ECG, USG. Notable that Pathology will be shifted to the 1st floor later.

(vi) Different National Health Schemes (Immunization, Family Planning etc. Child Eye Care etc., Medical Seminars and Symposia.

(vii) Free Eye Camps, Emergency Medical Camps during Calamity.

(viii) Regular mobile dispensary: Two Mobile Vans for remote villages and slums of nearby districts. It will carry eye patients and general patients from villages and bring them to our Ashrama Hospital for Diagnosis and General treatment. In case of complicacy or seriousness it will refer to other hospitals for treatment.

(ix) Other Facilities - Charitable Pharmacy (General & Ophthalmic), Sub-Post office, Telephone Booth, Hygienic and secured Surroundings, Parking facility, Canteen facility etc.

Our Defined Target after completion of the 1st Phase of Construction:

(I) Target Group :- B.P.L., SC/ ST, Children, Village Populace of Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Samastipur districts i.e., 20 Lakh SC, ST, BPL group, 6 Lakh children of Schools and Villages.

Target Period : 5 – 10 years.

(II) Target villages – 20 villages within periphery of our Hospital. The organization is on the outskirts of the town where rural people have very easy access. Within a periphery of 10 to 12 kms. there are number of villages – 1. Dhirenpatti, 2.Mushahari, 3.Narauli, 4.Dumria, 5. Patahi, 6.Gobarsahi 7. Khawra, 8. Prahladpur, 9.Bairia, 10.Dighra, 11.Kothia, 12.Narainpura, 13.Manika, 14. Subhankarpur, 15.Rahua, 16.Rambag, 17.Kanhauli, 18.Sherpur, 19.Ward nos.48,49. Total Population 1,00,000 (Approx.) BPL 40,000 SC/ ST 14,000 SC Children 2,500 (Male 1,400 Female 1,100) Target Period 3 to 5 years.

(III) Target Number to achieve in 2011-2012 after completion of Ground Floor Building: (i) IOL implantation: 10 thousand (50 % full free and the rest Part Free and Paying) (ii) Eye caring and general health care for children and old persons: 10 thousand (iii) Treatment for General OPD patients: 1 Lakh (iv) Regular Mobile Dispensary 2 days a week with free Medicine, and with Mobile Immunization Programme (v) Camps: 60-80 camps in the year 2011-12 after completion of Ground floor
